Short description: Aquaponic farm used to create a Circular Economy for CO2 reduction.

Project description:

The project models a closed-loop system where fish waste provides nutrients for plants, which in turn purify water for the fish. By using simulation and data analysis, the project assesses resource efficiency, waste reduction, and environmental impact in terms of CO2 reduction without the need for a physical setup. As part of the European Project Semester (EPS) the team has to complete a project about a aquaponic farm network. This digital approach allows for the testing of various parameters and system configurations, yielding valuable insights into the potential of aquaponics as a viable, sustainable farming method. The project highlights aquaponics' role in a circular economy, where outputs from one system component become inputs for another, paving the way for efficient resource use in agriculture.
