Short description: A Browser Extension that automatically detects Hate Speech and provides Counter Speech suggestions to assist in combating Hate Speech online.

Project description:

Our project "White Knight" is a Browser Extension for Google Chrome that automatically detects Hate Speech in Youtube comments and provides Counter Speech suggestions to assist in combating Hate Speech online. To achieve that, we use state of the art Large Language Models for filtering for Hate Speech and generating Counter Speech. Hate Speech can seriously harm individuals and create negativity in online communities so we want to give users the tools to detect and counter Hate Speech to lower the barriers for actively participating in combating Hate Speech online. Our plan for the long run is that we want to promote positive conversations instead of hateful ones, to create a safer and more welcoming online environment. By encouraging respectful interactions, we aim to make a positive impact on how people communicate.
