Short description: A VR story game that educates through immersive roleplay as a social worker helping a youth transition to independent living.

Project description:

By blending entertainment with education, we can create dynamic tools that not only captivate users but also equip them with the knowledge and skills to navigate real-world complexities. This project harnesses the power of VR to bridge entertainment and social good, placing players in the shoes of a social worker guiding a young client through a pivotal life transition. Rather than passively absorbing information, players actively participate in a narrative-driven experience that mirrors the challenges faced by vulnerable youth. Through this innovative approach, we aim to spark interest, encourage reflection, and inspire actionable insights both for the players and the broader community. Our project centers on a VR story game rooted in social work principles. The game immerses players in the life of an 18-year-old boy who has recently aged out of an orphanage or dorm and must now secure a new home and build an independent life.
